Why We Built This Site
Finding a Davidson court record often starts with a simple question but crosses several official channels. The unified Davidson Clerk of Superior Court keeps the files and docket indexes for both Superior and District Court. Superior Court is the primary trial court for felony trials and civil matters over $25,000. District Court handles most misdemeanors, traffic matters, domestic and juvenile matters, and lower-value civil actions. Magistrates work within the District Court division for assigned matters.
The public online route is the eCourts Portal, where a public case can show a Case Summary / Register of Actions, case events, dispositions, hearings, and available documents. The Portal is helpful for locating public case information, but it is not the official court record. The Davidson Clerk is the custodian for the actual file and for certification when permitted.
What You Will Find Here
These pages organize the official search, hearing, and Clerk routes around common Davidson court-record needs. They explain the difference between a public timeline and an official document, and they identify the court division or local office that can answer a particular question.
- Docket information: search and reading details for criminal court dockets and civil court dockets.
- Dates and hearings: the public calendar paths and current-setting checks on the Court Schedule page.
- Case locations: name and number search information through Docket Search.
- Official files: the distinction between Portal results, Clerk-held documents, and certified copies on Court Case Records.
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately operated reference resource, with no affiliation to North Carolina courts, the Davidson Clerk of Superior Court, or any government agency. Official case handling remains with the appropriate court and Clerk. The following requests must go to those offices:
- Producing an official docket sheet, court file, order, or judgment
- Changing, resetting, or confirming a hearing or court date
- Sealing, removing, correcting, or amending a court record
- Issuing a certified copy of a docket entry or filed document
- Giving legal advice about a Davidson case or court procedure
- Guaranteeing that a case entry, phone number, schedule, or fee remains current
Only the court or Clerk that maintains a case can provide an official or certified court document. Portal search information and the reference material here cannot replace that source.
Search Partners
Some content pages contain sponsored search tools operated by outside providers. Those providers administer their own services and prices, and a paid sign-up reached through a tool may generate referral revenue for this private resource. The providers control their results and charges. Official Davidson case records, dates, payments, and certified copies remain matters for the court system and the Clerk.
